The upgrade of gear can increase its stats base and often boosts its extras. The value of these upgrade is determined by the levels of gear, their requirements, and the number of random augmentations can be applied.

The elite racial Shield Razortail for instance, is usually upgraded to improve its lightning absorption capabilities in PvP, and/or to provide additional defenses to missile-based builds in the PvM. This makes it more marketable than the non-upgraded version.

Reroll Tokens

Reroll tokens allow you to roll a purchased item such as an armor, weapon or ring. The item is replaced with another of the same kind, but with different bonuses. Reroll tokens are a cost-effective method to upgrade equipment. They don't preserve the original level of the item, and any resources wasted aren't rewarded.

Survivors can obtain tokens to reroll in many ways, including through the Mistery Box and rare drops from skulled creatures. They can be located in crates and chests, or purchased from the market at a cost of 150k each. Reroll tokens can be used to change the attribute of an item of equipment for example, increasing the damage it can cause.

Players can roll equipment in three attributes, physical power, spell power and health. Upgrades to physical power increase the damage of melee and weapons attack while upgrades to spell power upgrade mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades give the player an additional amount of health.

There are three kinds of Reroll tokens: upgrade rare and legendary. Each upgrade takes an item to a better quality, with the requirement of a higher-level reroll token in order to make it. Upgrades require a regular item. Rare upgrades require an item that is either unique or legendary. Legendary upgrades require three legendary pieces.
